Trip to the Dales Countryside Museum in Hawes

Event Day(s):
Saturday

Saturday 26 July, 10:45-16:30

Enjoy a trip on board a Western Dales Bus through the wonderful Westmorland Dales to the Dales Countryside Museum in Hawes. The museum tells the fascinating story of the Yorkshire Dales and the people who have lived and worked here and shaped the landscape for thousands of years, and on the day of our visit a special celebration of all things sheep will be taking over the museum! There'll be fun for all the family to enjoy, with sheep in the ampthitheatre, a talk from sheep breeder Jodi Shadforth, spinning demonstrations in the museum's textile gallery, and the Wensleydale Longwool Sheep Breeder’s Association on hand for questions and advice.

Transport and museum entry are free of charge, and there will be time afterwards to explore Hawes at your leisure.

The bus will leave Kirkby Stephen (Market Square) at 10:45 and return from Hawes at 16:00, arriving back in Kirkby Stephen at 16:30. Please note this tour is not guided.

Numbers are limited and booking is essential: reserve your place by emailing info@westmorlanddalesfestival.org
